In June 2023 Merthyr joined a daily life drawing group at L'Academie de la Grande Chaumière in Montparnasse, Paris.
The drawings done over this period form part of the exhibition opening on
Saturday 23 March in Matakana starting at 3 pm - 6 pm. On Sunday 24 until
Sunday 31 we will be open from 10 am - 2 pm.

"It was fascinating to work amongst a group of eccentric Parisian artists and to feel integrated in a small way into the Parisian art world. They say that all things French have their origins in the French Revolution and I had first hand experience of this. The group dynamic was fascinating and I was interested to be part of it."

While in Paris Merthyr discovered a wholesaler of original vintage gallery posters which are printed litho or screen-print on heavy fine art paper.
The posters will be available for viewing during the exhibition. Have a look in "Shop" to see
available stock. If you take a note of which poster interests you we will be able to access it from storage to show you.
